Why do I feel urgency to break stuff when I'm stressed?

2021.11.30 20:58 Salteado Why do I feel urgency to break stuff when I'm stressed?

I'm an architecture student and I just break one of my msterial because of frustration and stress, basically one of my models just breaks and I spend a lot of time on it, I feel so overwhelmed by the situation, now I feel relax and chill, but I feel bad to have this agressive feelings, I didn't hurt anybody, I wouldn't do it but I don't know I would like to control more the frustration, also happens to me with videogames.

2021.11.30 20:58 notcsguy Careers Adjacent to CS

I am a Senior Computer Science student at a pretty good university in New York City, but I am now realizing that I don't really want to be a Software Engineer. I just don't enjoy coding as much as I once did and I am falling behind in my classes because I can't find the motivation to code much anymore. I have heard that Product Management is interesting but it is difficult to break into so it might not be the best alternative plan.

With a Computer Science degree, what other kinds of careers should I look into besides just a Software Eng? I was considering looking into Finance, but I am not even sure how that recruiting process would work. Thank you for any advice.

2021.11.30 20:58 zytukin So close, win some, loose some.

Picked up my 8 stop snowmobile load the day before Thanksgiving. 16 snowmobiles with 8 stops by Dec 2nd. Delivered the first stop in Albuquerque yesterday than drove to Salt Lake City.
This morning I got to the 2nd stop around 8:45am.
At 3:30pm I was pulling up to the last stop happy that I managed to do the last 7 stops, covering 315 miles, in one day. But the damn place was closed! Bastards. Tried calling but got no answer.
Oh well, 5 miles away at a truck stop now. Will head over tomorrow.

2021.11.30 20:58 Weak_Bodybuilder_442 Question about quora account

So I made a quora account and i can't remember if I voted on a cool recipe idea I wanted to make. I later deleted/deactivated the account (can't remember which), when I went back to make a new quora it said it reactivated my account since I had recently deleted/deactivated. Does anyone know if reactivated accounts still have upvote activity?

2021.11.30 20:58 JoImazkie94 The Cruel Irony Of People Complaining About The Robot Dogs...

To put it point blank: These robot dogs are probably the most realistic piece of advanced tech in terms mirroring something we have in real life. We don't have dinosaur cloning tech We barely have hologram tech close to what we saw in the Innovation Center We don't have anything remotely close the Gyrosphere
However, we do have robots like Spot and like Atlas from Boston Dynamics. These robots are doing back flips and full dance routines (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fn3KWM1kuAw&t=85s) so more likely than not the robots we see this season are just a decade and half down the road. Again, probably the most realistic piece of advanced tech.....in a Sci-Fi franchise....about cloned dinosaurs.

2021.11.30 20:58 noisyturtle What is a reasonable price range to hire a mechanic to inspect a vehicle in another state for you?

I am looking for a specific model, and I will never find one locally so I've decided to get a vehicle from out of state and pay the $1k to have it shipped. But I still will not buy it sight unseen. What is an average or acceptable amount to pay an out of state mechanic to inspect a vehicle for you, and what kind of feedback should I specifically request.
Also this will be a rotary engine vehicle, so idk if I'd need a rotary specialist to do the inspection or not.

2021.11.30 20:58 J_A_Taylor Feedback on the first chapter of a book I'm writing?

THANKS TO ANYONE WHO GIVES FEEDBACK AND CRITIQUE! I WELCOME IT TO GET BETTER!
Brandt ducked, narrowly missing Pipper's fist. He swung his fist out as he pivoted, the back of his bruised knuckles landing on Jacko's cheek. "The meat is mine," he grunted. Brandt leapt toward where the raw, thinly sliced portion of meat landed in the dirt. Sharp pain riveted through his midsection as Pipper's boot struck his abdomen.
"Think ya outsmart us?" Jacko said.
"Yeah, think ya outsmart us?" Pipper repeated.
Brandt fell to the ground, vomiting black droplets of blood on his hands. He used his blond, nearly dreaded hair as a towel to wipe his palms—no time for pain.
Pipper approached the old, weak general. Brandt grasped a portion of sand as the brother prepared to land a blow, chunking it up into the man's eyes. Pipper stepped back and screamed. The general pushed up, connecting an uppercut to the younger one's chin, knocking him to the ground.
Brandt turned to Jacko, punching at him like a wild animal. He ducked and dodged, attempting to avoid as many as he could. Each connecting blow sent a searing heat through his body. One of Jacko's punches broke through his defense, landing on his jaw. Brandt stumbled. Jacko stepped while grabbing his cloak. The older brother lodged his leg between the generals. Brandt fell to the ground.
"The bastard, I'll kill 'im!" Pipper shouted, standing up from the ground.
"No!" Jacko yelled to the young lad.
"Get the meat. I'll take care ooov er trouble here,"
Jacko spotted the meat still lying in the same spot. He glanced back and forth between the food and his brother. He wanted to object but knew that when his younger brother lusted for blood, nothing could stop him. Pipper had killed their pa after all.
Jacko made haste to get out of the way as Pipper withdrew a knife. An orangish-brown covered the blade tip to end. Where did he get that ol' rusted piece of shit? Jacko bent down and retrieved the morsel of sustenance.
Brandt laid motionless on his back. He pleaded with his body to get up. It refused. The bright blue sky peered back at him peacefully as if nothing life-threatening were happening. Don't look at me like that. The general screamed, using all his strength to turn on his side.
Pipper closed in on his prey. Clenching the weapon in his hand, he raised it in the air, "I got ya know ya cocky lil rat!" A smile revealed brown-rotting teeth. He lifted the blade and began driving it toward the helpless general. "Die!"
"O'Dahk, welcome me!" Brandt yelled, grabbing a branch for a weapon. Hopefully, O'Dahk would see it as him dying with a weapon in his hand and welcome him to the battle halls.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
Brandt waited for the killing strike. It never came. The general opened his eyes just as Pipper fell to the ground. One, two, three spiney pieces of wood lodged in his back. Tips of red revealed them to be arrows, a royal weapon.
"Pipper!" Jacko yelled as he dropped the meat. He started to run toward his younger brother.
"Don't move now ya hear?"
Brandt moved to the source of the voice. William A. Burnder stood a few paces from each of them. His black hair fell past his shoulders. Pimples covered most of the young boy's face. Scrawny, built like a twig, the slave owner stood without any intimidation of his own. It was the man behind him that did the scaring.
A tall, imposing figure stood behind him. His face was masked by long-thin garments that revealed a hint of his face. His gaze was that of a killer. His hands frozen outward with the bow still clenched between them; another arrow at the ready. White garments clothed all areas of visible skin. Stalkers, or so they called themselves when hired. These men assumed no identity as long as you paid them. They showed no remorse slaying the vulgar or the innocent.
"'and me the whip," William said to a slave that stepped up behind him. The man wasn't as weak as the rest of them. He still had a slight belly on him, taunting them as he passed the cord.
William took hold of the long-loosely wound black whip. His wrist flicked, sending ripples down to the end, cracking the air. "How many times do I gotta tell y'all, quit fightin'." The owner circled his arm overhand, giving his wrist a sharp flick at the end. Winding through the air, it snapped against Jacko's bare chest. Jacko screamed as his skin tore open, the force pushing him to the ground.
"Yer son of a whore brother shouldn't oov 'ad a knife on 'im. Takin' one's property ain't to ma likin', should'oov known that." William said. "As fer the rest of ye, no food tonight. Now get back to pickin' the fields," he said while winding the whip back up.
Brandt groaned, pushing himself off of the ground. He looked once again at the meat that started the whole commotion. "Damn it," he said, watching another field slave retrieve the meat for the owner. I can't go on like this. His muscles cramped as he stood to his feet. His head was pounding like someone was beating it with a drumstick. Each place where Pipper landed a punch protested, with bruises forming in each spot. Run. The owner had already turned his back along with the stalker. Jacko lay screaming on the ground. Now!
Brandt started to run. The part of the open field they worked on was nearest to the forest edge. The places unharvested would be enough to conceal himself and hopefully make it the edge.
He ignored the agony brought on by his wounds. Five months since his capture, he knew another night without food could be his last. Once a proud general, now forced to do the bidding of a boy who hadn't even learned to be a man. Even if he died, his attempt to escape would be a worthy death. Brandt clenched the branch in his hand at the thought of his death.
Thud!
Brandt fell to the ground. A daggering pain traveled from his leg as he rolled to a stop flat on his back. "Ahh, what th-" he leaned up, seeing an arrow protruding from his leg. He found the owner approaching him. He looked at how far he got, not even ten yards. Damn it!
William approached with a smile. "Now, now. Ye can't be leavin' the party, now ya hear? Got too much booty invested in yer ass." He loosed the whip from his hand, flicking it his way. It strikes, cracking right above where the arrow lodged itself.
William watched as Brandt squirmed, screaming in pain. If he could smile more, he would've. He enjoyed seeing his subjects in pain. These people didn't deserve life. Yet, he paid them each a favor by letting them live a little longer under his care.
"Feed ya, I do. Cloth ya. Bath ye. And this, this is how ye repay your master?" He spoke. William kicked his boot, landing it straight in Brandt's face. "Not much oov' a general are you now? Pathetic." He said.
"Let me go," Brandt said.
"Now I can't do that, boy. Might cause a little rebellion and cost me monies," He said. He knelt, grabbing his chin. "Yer worse than the muck on this earth." Hckkkpttttt. William spat straight in the general's face. "I got somethin' special fer critters like ya."
"Bag 'im up, bring 'im to the gutters," William said.
"As you wish," the stalker said.
Brandt twisted at the voice behind him. How? The only coherent thought his mind could muster as his eyes landed on the stalker. Somehow, the man had gotten behind him without a sound. Who were these people? He attempted to move but couldn't. The stalker clasped his bow, bringing it down, striking Brandt's temple. Everything went dark.
